G'day Guys
I thought I'd actually join a squad. I'm 31 years old and I live in Perth, I've always been an aircraft nut and only two things get near the real ones with limited funds. Rc aircraft and flight sims.
I've been playing flight sims on an off for years (from EAW to now) mainly SP due to the lack of other people to play with and skill in dogfighting ( I loath Air quake). I'm mainly looking to do mission based coop but I'm happy to team up in the public servers.
My preference for aircraft is the FW190, but I also like ground attack so the Stuka and IL2 are fun to fly for me.
I also have DCS, CLoD
Look forward to flying with you guys.
Cheers
Tybrean

Welcome on board Tyberan! Always good to hear from a FW190 fan - best looking WW2 aircraft IMHO! Although it is a handful in BOS. Had a lot of fun with the Stuka and il2. So you will have company there. We also run DCS evenings on our "server". Most of us have the bf109K and many of us have other modules. At this stage we use the official BOS TS or an ATAG channel. Look forward to chatting with you at some stage, F

Awesome. I've got the most of the modules for DCS (thanks to steam sales), so I have the BF109k, FW190 D9 (i love this plane more then the A series), P-51 and will be planning on getting the other WW2 modules they put out ( I think Spit mk9 is next). Also have all the modern stuff bar the Hawk and the Mig15.
Oh I almost forgot I have Rise of Flight, I pretty much have all of the planes with that as well. I've been playing that recently since discovering the PWCG campaign mod.
I do love the FW190 but I do get the feeling devs in BoS hate it has i has flaws that never existed, well expect for that snap roll.
I've got a pretty decent setup too, I've got the Saitek Rhino x55, rudder pedals, track ir and I managed to make a cheap chair setup with a KAB seat I got cheap from work. I just dont get enough chances to use it.

Yeti
I hear you looking at getting the X55 Rhino (Felix told me). I own and it is pretty good value for the money. I did look at getting the warthog, but it was a purchase that was going to be hard to hide from the wife.
The X55 can basically be described in two parts, the throttle and the stick.
The throttle is by far the best part about it. Its solid and has some weight to it, there is an adjuster on the side to change the tension. It also has a nice matte rubber finish to it. The throttles move very smooth.
The right throttle has two hotas like hats on them where the thumb would be these are great for trimming. There is also a slide button. There is also two rotational knobs, both can be pressed for a button as well very handy. All the toggle switches are metal and sturdy.
The Joystick. Is not to bad it could have been better in terms of the plastic handle being heavier but its still got the soft matte rubber finish that the throttle does. It feels very ergonomic. There is 3 hats but I find that my thumb is not long enough to get to the top one without moving my hand up. All buttons feel a little cheap.
You can swap out the springs but I just used the one it came with, I found the harder ones to much of a fight. If the stick was longer they would work well.
All in all I really like it, for the money its well worth it. I got mine from PLE as it was about $240.

Thanks for that Tyberan, I should have it by the end of August all going well. I liked the look of the throttle set up and being a separate piece. I am currently using a Logitech 3D Pro and don't get me wrong I do like it alot but I find it a pain in the arse being on the base of it. I am looking forward to getting it.
