Plenty of good car racing sims out there. My preference is Assetto Corsa. The Simpit is a good site to follow if you are into racing. The Simpit

Yeah I picked that up. I don't drive the racing games much, mainly because I can't be bothered setting up the wheel and keyboard or gamepad just doesn't cut it for me. I prefer rally driving but I think the best of used of that genre is Dirt 3 so pretty ancient.

Been looking at Project Cars, still not sold on it, but its development is looking really good. Will be interesting to see how quickly the mod scene for it develops as well.

Have not played a rally game since Colin MacRae day's. Picked up Dirt Rally, pretty good. Here is a nice tutorial. PS I probably suck more at rallying than flight simming, and that is saying something!

Picked up Dirt Rally and Assetto Corsa in the Steam sale this weekend. Both look pretty good so far. Have need an excuse to dust off the old Mono wheel and pedals.

Excellent pick up. The AC Dream Pack has the nurburgring. Looks excellent but have not had the time to test it out!
Dirt Rally is a lot of fun, but tiring! After half an hour or so I find that I need a break!1

Had a break from flight sims last night and ventured to the track via Assetto Corsa. Great fun! - thx Skajrat and etchasketch. First visit to Nordschleife - awesome, definitely worth getting the add-on if you are interested. It is possible to host AC games. See this link for details of port forwarding etc AC article - Hosting
This sucks if true -
I believe if you run the server on your own machine you will not be able to connect to it. I'm fortunate enough to have a Windows Server VPS in a data center, so that's where I'm going to run mine. - See more at: www.raggedracing.com/2014/5/10/setting-up-an-assetto-corsa-multiplayer-server#sthash.xnxcavr6.dpuf

Hi Guys, Some interesting news for Assetto Corsa and Dirt Rally drivers. There is a good chance that AEF Australia are going to host these titles 24/7 in the near future. Obviously, with AC you need to turn up on race night to participate. However, Dirt Rally played as a multiplayer event does not have the same restriction. You can log onto the server and complete the current stage whenever you have the time. So if you are interested, keep an eye out here and on the AEF site.
If you have AC, try the Zandvoort track with the Mercedes 190 and the BMW Stage A. Bumpy and hilly - good fun!

Hi Dirt Rally Owners!
AEF-Australia have put together an online League. The first event is at Flying Finland and will be open from now until next THU 12 Nov 2300 hrs. Six stages with the Lancia 037 Evo 2. My total time was just under 31 minutes, driving to preserve the car. Plenty of repair sections! If you want to have a punt let me know. No aliens here, so don't be shy!

An update on my latest steering wheel fix! I have been impressed with Automobilista (AMS) and can strongly recommend the title. Although built on the ISI rFactor1 engine, REIZA have taken the engine to another level. Always a touchy subject, but I think it has the best force feedback going at the moment. The Brit Pack has been released to owners of the Beta program and this should flow to those not in this program soon. A lot to look forward to for you guys! Race Department's Australian group conduct's an AMS race each week (sometimes two) for members and a V8 Stock Car Championship is just beginning. The starting grid has over 30 qualifiers! So a full grid is assured. I'm struggling to break the 30 ranking barrier! If you have unusual hours that can be catered for with RD's Euro and USA groups.
