Was it in 3.1 M$ first introduced a "flight simulator"? I remember the Megis field take off and trying to get back on the ground! Or was it even earlier? I had a friend who was working in a multinational company as a computer expert who had this early "laptop" weighing some 20 kg and I "flew" using the keyboard! Things have come a long way since! Through Chuck Yeagers slight sim, Overlord, EAW CFS 1,2 & 3, falcon 4, Flanker, M$ flight sims, the IL2 series, down to where we are now, with setups one couldn´t imagine back in the day! Me, I´m only flying offline, never dared to go online (or never had the chanse due to bad connection to the internet). I´ve got a decent PC, Warthog HOTAS, MFG pedals, TIR 5, and a room for myself to dwell in. Living in northern Sweden wintertime is dark and snowy, sun raises at around 0940 and sets at 1320 giving a lot of darkness in the countryside! (A lot of time to spend flying)

Welcome to the forum! If your internet improves or you are feeling brave you are welcome to join us on teamspeak. It seems that older pilots are more into online flying than younger guys! Most of can relate to the games you have mentioned. Anyway, enjoy your simming!
