I have been doing some praccy take off runs in the 'easy' mode with about 40% juice and 4 x 250's.
And of the dozen or more runs so far I have successfully made it airborne twice.
It's a touchy beast of a thing, but once you have the speed when wells up seems to handle reasonably well for something that big.
More practice needed...

This is my fav bomber because of its speed and versatility. The only problem is the lack of forward vision for the pilot. I usually don't have any issues with getting this bird off the ground. Totally agree though with the 40% fuel. The maps are quite small compared to the range on that thing. On takeoff I use: - 10% flap - 100% prop pitch - everything open (incl cowl flaps I think they're called) I keep forgetting which aircraft have what ie. prop pitch, radiators, mixture, etc etc so i just open everything up!!!
